To you, readers with good intentions =>

[…] I wish that you and your family are in good health and living in safe surroundings. My certificated GZ-psychologist (June 2022 – October 2023) advised me to complete my CV, and to mention my two times cum laude. Find my writings here. Translations of Dutch news are in this list.

I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke, I don’t eat meat, I don’t take medicines, apart from paracetamol, very occasionally. I have been studying the life & work of Thich Nhat Hanh since 2007.

LIFE/WORK (since Covid-19)

On December 16th 2020, in the middle of corona, our mom (1930 – 2022) was taken to the hospital in Tilburg because she broke her hip. She never fully recovered and started to suffer from first stage in dementia in February / March 2021. On 28 April 2022 our mum moved to an elderly home. You can read about her life in part one until 28 april 2022, and in part two in the elderly home, Elzenhoven, 28 April 2022 – 15 October 2022.

WORK. SINCE 2016 I have been working on PoetryBirdsFly, part of the Tilburg Starwink foundation (2007-archived in 2021). The Project comprises 30 boards. I collect up-lifting information:1. here  2. Encouraging talks, and more, & 3. the work of Thich Nhat Hanh. The board Hope, Care & Democracy, holds pins related to physical illness & war trauma in our family. Our beloved house father (1928-2001) suffered from veteran trauma. Finally, he died of cancer. On the board Free eBooks you will find fiction & non-fiction which you can download. There is also a board with Poetry. I collect music here. Without humor, life is hard. Also you may be interested in work by fellow local artists and my artworks. I made the board about Indonesia in honour of Dutch East Indies veterans who sought at the time to serve their country to the best of their ability. As mentioned, dad’s time in the country left a stain on his life.

Tilburg, from July 2014. Besides PoetryBirdsFly, I am working on a gadget project to raise awareness on mental health stigma. I send selfmade gadgets (+ image in this blog) to mayors, aldermen, politicians and administrators. I receive many positive responses […]. Until 2016, I also worked as a volunteer for several Tilburg organizations, 2009-2016. Besides, I was a parttime art teacher at the Willem van Oranje College (my former second education school, 1978-1985). In addition, I interviewed refugees and published my contributions at the Public Library Brabant and in blogs. I wrote about Syrian and Yemeni refugees. I visited them in Tilburg St. Josef Zorg. Furthermore, I am in weekly contact with Donatien. I met him in the summer of 2011, when I led a drawing project in Kigali, Rwanda. That summer, I also participated in a study week on transitional justice, organised by Alphonse Muleefu. We made excursions to memorials, universities, and prisons throughout Rwanda and were active in participating in conferences, for which we had submitted papers, in preparation for participating in scholarly debates.

Before I switched to PoetryBirdsFly, I was good at lecturing Poetry, Art & Film (2005-2017), Hovo-elderly told me, asking me to restart using Zoom, from 2020 on. I refused, because I had too less time left due to family care and I do not favor giving Zoom-lectures at all. Besides lecturing at Hovo Brabant, I have lead many multi-day cultural trips, mainly to Germany, to the Documenta in Kassel, Wuppertal, Dusseldorf, Museum Insel Hombroich, and other Musea (2005-2017). Many great memories make me feel good today, working on my gadgets letterproject.

OUTLINE WHY Hope lives in the journey of the soul:

I was born in 1965 in Sprang-Capelle, a village in North-Brabant near the magical theme-park de Efteling. I was the middle child of a middle-class family. Dad was an East Indies veteran, furniture maker and later housefather (the kindest you can imagine) and our mom was the director of a nursing home for the elderly, that we lived in as a family. Our parents raised their three children, my older brother, younger sister and myself lovingly, based on a practising protestant philosophy of life. Within our close family, my father’s and my younger sister’s broken back (1980) & following chronic depression determined our day-to-day life. And not much later it also formed the basis for my relationship with my beloved (1962-2002). In contrast to what may frequently be believed, people who suffer from depression are not themselves the depression. They lead seemingly normal lives and attempt to contribute to society by performing voluntary work for socially involved people and organizations. Furthermore, they are gentle people with a sense of humor, with listening ears for others. That is how I remember our dad and Michiel. Michiel studied in Antwerp, 1987-1989. He lived there, four days a week, I joined. Magical memories.

After completing pre-university secondary education (VWO) at the Willem van Oranje College, 1978-1985, I graduated in 1990 as a first-grade teacher of visual arts at the visual arts academy in Tilburg (cum laude, expression of perfectionism…not wanting to do get anything ‘wrong’). Since the autumn of 1990 I have been working in this city. In 2002 I graduated in language and cultural sciences at Tilburg University (cum laude). In 2004 I met Mieke Bal. She was the initiator of Theory Seminars at the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis(ASCA), a research institute at the University of Amsterdam. I took part in theory seminars & conferences for several years. Mieke Bal assisted me to publish a scientific article. From 2005 to 2017 I lectured poetry, visual arts, and philosophy at Hovo Brabant, an academic educational institution for the elderly people on the campus of Tilburg University. Besides, I taught at Fontys College of Higher Education for Art and the Willem van Oranje College in Waalwijk. I also worked voluntarily as a journalist for the Library of Central Brabant, scroll down, last in row, for the Wereldpodium and for NieuwWij.

Put briefly, since 1980 my life has revolved around chronic depressions of family members and loved ones, and its effects. I have made it my work and looking back I have no regrets; quite the opposite. Because looking to the future, I will need all I have learned, to be able to continue to function in similar family relations. If my goal had been to achieve popularity and/or collect more followers, I would not have deleted my Instagram account with more than 1K followers and my Twitter account with 90% foreign connections in August 2019. If that were true then I would have led a different life from 1980. But I kept PoetryBirdsFly on Pinterest online, and I restarted to pin at the end of 2019. My Pinterest project supplements the loss of the Tilburg (local) offline Intelligentsia network that I was involved in until the end of 2016. Starwink Foundation initiated projects from 2007 until 2021. The foundation was archived in 2021 and the RABOBANK-account was closed. Pinterest PoetryBirdsFly project adapts Starwink message.

Fear and lack of understanding of vulnerable people, because they behave differently, are understandable. But if that fear results in structural forms of exclusion it becomes socially toxic. I have seen the effects of this exclusion on direct family members and on the life of my beloved growing, over the last forty years. From 1998 to 2016 I participated in meetings with other families at the Dutch family-initiative Ypsilon. Fear in society, due to unfamiliarity with chronic depression, is a social theme that is structurally underestimated…I could write three sad books about it, or tell the story of a vagrant here in Tilburg, who due to a string of bad luck and faulty diagnoses, has ended up homeless. But I am not going to do that. Holding a Pinterest-account, manufacturing gadgets and drawing birds suit me better.

The social unease which grew since the COVID-19 era makes me think back to the 1980s. It was a turbulent time for teenagers then, as well. Society was still segregated at that time and in addition, various youth cultures regularly tumbled over each other. You could draw a comparison with this 21st-century society. Segregation has more or less disappeared, but due to the internet, the world has become a village in which different countries, youth cultures, and parts of the world have taken over the ‘segregation’ effect. Hopefully, you understand what I mean. How can we get these new compartments; the various countries, with different cultures and regimes, cooperating? Parallel (on- and offline) life has been confusing for several people, especially since the war in Ukraine started.

Besides this, the 1980s were also a time of protest. The public space was regularly shaken up by uncontrollable chaos. After all, the Government Information (Freedom of access) Act (1991) did not yet exist. Covid-19 has set in motion a similar so-called “snowball effect”: virus, anxiety, death and powerlessness, on a worldwide scale. This has led to a fragile balance between psychological and physical violence on the one hand, and peaceful co-existence on the other hand. Put briefly: the global and local community is searching for a new balance, with newly-adopted measures to prevent polarisation from escalating over the coming years.

Finally: This quote could have been from our dad. He died a month before the Twin Towers were destroyed. We are still “happy” for our dad that he didn’t have to experience those news reports:

“Democracy don’t rule the world, You’d better get that in your head; This world is ruled by violence, But I guess that’s better left unsaid.” Bob Dylan

*************************************************

Since October 2020 I have been asking for city mediation, because of discrimination in the Tilburg public domain. The Tilburg public domain is managed by the Tilburg City Council. I worked for the Wereldpodium as a volunteer, on an academic level from 2009 until 2016. From around 2009, discrimination, and cyberstalking have grown in local communities as a result of social media abuse. Thus, I lobby for the installation of a local human rights committee (to regain social and cyber safety).

I am lobbying for the introduction of local human rights committees in the Netherlands. From 1990 on I have been making handmade works about birds and life; etchings, drawings, gouaches, paintings, collages, etc. Besides, I have lectured on poetry, art and life events, from 2005 until 2017. Contact Hovo-Brabant to ask for the archived reviews on my lecture-skills. I worked with survivors in Rwanda. When the Tilburg local human rights committee is installed, I want to go to Bucha to draw with survivors, for three months. I am also looking for a place in a convent or ecumenical community abroad from where I can assist elderly, draw and read. In short, I need to leave the Netherlands as soon as possible. […] If anyone in the Netherlands ever felt threatened by emails I sent, I give you all, about 15 people, who received one or two emails, around 2019, permission to publish my words. Besides, I invite everyone to track my GPS in my mobile phone, 2014- present, to check my offline travels in the city, in the region and in the Netherlands.

My Premium LinkedIn account was hacked eight times between June 6, 2024 and November 1, 2024: everything saved. I want the Dutch Public Prosecution Service to investigate who is mutilating my social media accounts. What is cybercrime?

IND lawyer Jan Leenaers has been stalking me for years, on all social media accounts, but especially on LinkedIn. When he found out that I had bought a Premium Xing account in November 2024, he started stalking me there. However, the IND has informed me that they do not have an IND lawyer Jan Leenaers in their organization. Jan Leenaers is a cybercriminal, stalking, hating psychopath. Jantje does not want a Levelt cyber council. Because then Jantje can finally be placed in detention. How much does Jan Leenaers, alias Jan Waldola resemble Volkert van der Graaf?
